The following article is both, a horribly written guide, and the rantings of a madman, about the glory, and pains of Capitalism, and how to win it on the battlefields of the job market.

Now there are plenty of guides about how to start, and operate companies. So if you want an actual guide, on how to make money, written by someone who actually knows what they are doing, find one of those! This guide will mostly focus on the job market, mostly because it filled with annoying people! It's also just a bit of a humorous thing I made because I was quite bored...

The Game

So, you’re a budding young businessman, you have your shiny new company, your starting capital, your raw resources, all you need now are the slave workers to run your sweatshop!

This is where the hell begins...

Some people head over to the job market, and see that the highest pay is, lets say 15 USD, now in the minds of cruel, evil, people, who annoy me greatly... they see that and go “Holy S***, I better put my offer at 20 USD!” And now the wages are higher, and your profits decrease, and the poor get a bit more money ( Rule #1 of Capitalism, keep those poor fools poor!).

Capitalist Leap Frog

Business can be described as a strategic game of chess, or a game of Monopoly. The job market is an annoying game of leapfrog. You want the highest paying job, so the slave workers, work for you. This doesn’t mean you have to raise the wages 30-bajillion dollars. Most of the time you see people raising it .01 USD at a time, which is effective, (somewhat annoying), and still keep those poor folk begging in the streets. But you don’t really have to raise the wages at all, and here’s why.

Most of the time, simply matching the highest offer is good enough, if the highest paying job is 20 USD, offer 20 USD as well. Contrary to popular belief, there is more than one worker out there.

Now sometimes, you just want/need workers NOW! You can’t wait 20 extra minutes, so you want the highest price. First of all check the current highest price, then check how many job offers that company currently has. If there is only 1 opening, it will be gone very soon, and you could wait. If there are a few jobs (3-5) up for grabs in that company, you might be waiting a bit longer.

Sneak Attack that Sucker!

So, you’re impatient, and dead set on driving wages up, so you can get that worker now, yet the company with the highest wage is hiring 5 people at once. You need to be sneaky, or you are going to be playing .01 leapfrog. Check to see if the player posting that job offer is online, if he is forget, about it, you’ll both just constantly outbid each other, raising the market price, everyone else will raise the wages, and then the poor working class will magically become rich and educated, and demand better working conditions which will lead to the complete and total collapse of our wonderful Capitalist society run by us few wealthy individuals! (Rule #2 of Capitalism, Utopian Societies are not very profitable.)

If he is offline... Attack! and pray to your god/saint/religious figure/pony princess/etc, that he does not come back online!

If you follow this advice (if you can even call it that...) you should be able to have some degree of success finding workers.

Advice that is actually (somewhat) Useful

Now that you have your minions feverishly working away in your sweatshop, you want to keep them there, locked away from the outside world, far away from the ideas of minimum wage, unions, and labor laws (Rule #3 of Capitalism, If it’s good for the worker, it’s bad for business!).

Now there are a few ways to go about keeping your minions working.

#1. Never give raises. Hire new workers to replace those that leave.

#2. Be a generous employer, and keep wages above job market value. Constant raises. Remove your worker’s shock collars. (Some crazy people actually do this!)

#3. Make small wage increases when job markets prices jump up, or they level up their economy skill.

Method #1 is a bit inefficient and unreliable, and involves constant battle on the job market for a steady stream of workers. Method #2 is just pure insanity (yet quite effective... ). Method #3 is a decent way to go about this. Say you have an eco skill 3 worker, getting paid $25, he levels up to lvl 4, where the average wage is $30. In most cases you may be able to get away with increasing his wage to $28, or $27.99. (Rule #4 of Capitalism, .99 is the key to ripping people off!).

Nobody will switch jobs to make an extra 50 cents, or dollar! (If you ignore all the people who do).

I hope you managed to find some advice that was remotely useful, or at least got a small chuckle out of reading this crime against literature. And don’t worry, your workers won’t be able to discover your job recruiting secrets by reading this article... everyone knows the poor working class can’t read!

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
