EQUIPMENT
Is it a good thing or a bad thing? Personally, I think it is a good addition to the game. No doubt everyone has had a change to have a quick glance at testura to see how everything works. Here are some things to think about.
Who will have the advantages:
In the initial stages of the addition of equipment I think that the greatest advantage will be to those VISA and Mastercard players. They will be able to purchase the equipment more readily and be able to get the most advantages in terms of minimizing their "miss change", and increasing their "strength" and "% damage increase". Since they will have the pick of the litter in terms of equipment, they will most likely dominate the battle rounds in terms of being able to control how much damage they can do.
When push comes to shove, in the end of the day, the dedicated and motivated players will have the advantage, and for me, this in a MAJOR + in this game. It will mean that those dedicated players, even if they have less strength, will ultimately be able to catch up to the less dedicated and motivated players (i.e 2 clickers). For instance, the merge tool is priceless!
Of course those dedicated VISA players will run riot, but hey, can we really complain? No. They are dedicated, and they invest in the game, so they honestly should be ahead of the game. We all knew this when we started secura, so there is no need to moan about it.
Who will get the equipment in the battles?
A few comments have been floating around that the equipment will be dominated by the dedicated visa players. Well NO. If you read the fine print in the article that the admin wrote, you will see that the Equipment will be given "RANDOMLY". So, obviously, you can up your chances by hitting in multiple rounds. Mind you, people can only have a maximum of 25 food, 25 gifts (using vacation and spa - and unless they still have their health packs around), so there will be many rounds to have the opportunity to win equipment. So what is the result of this?
YES, once again, the equipment addition gives benefits to the DEDICATED PLAYERS that spend time in the game. It will give advantages to those that log on regularly. Basically, more rounds participated in, bigger likelihood of receiving equipment.
The Miss Factor
The biggest complaint so far has been the random MISS factor. The main issue is obvious, but when all is said and done, if people are smart about it and bide their time, and work at getting the best situation for themselves, this miss factor can be reduced to less than 2%.
The effect on Civil Wars
The point of a CW should be to overthrow a government, not to have it as a money making scheme for your country. I applaud those countries that have really made great use of the money making scheme. It has showed how selfless, vibrant, and coordinated those countries are. It has also built up strong ties within the community. Major Kudos goes to them, but honestly, plain and simple, I think that many people will be super happy to see this go. With the random factors incorporated in the game (increase of damage, miss factor, critical hit chance etc) is will make it extremely difficult to have such organization in these CW's. Of course, these citizens can still try to make an organized CW. Just get everyone to get rid of all of their equipment and still give it a go. Of course, you can bet your bottom dollar that someone will hit a critical and mess it all up.
Okay, I'll say this. I wasn't going to mention anything, but hey, I am a journalist so I should try to give as much information as possible. If you look at the fine print (or the wiki link - wiki.e-sim.org/index.php/Equipment) you will find that only certain factors are stackable, and some are unstackable. This will mean that their will be a constant flow of equipment going on the auction market. Since people wont need certain unstackable traits, they will stick those on the market and be on the lookout for those that will get them the optimal output.
Is Randomness bad?
I can see both sides of the story here, but when you get down to the nuts and bolts it comes down to one main idea. DEDICATED PLAYERS vs 2 CLICKERS. Sure, it will no doubt add an element of frustration to players, but in the long run it will still benefit the dedicated players that think and are interested in the game. Sure, its gonna suck when that last Q5 Weapon Berserk missed and you missed out on the BH combo and I'm sure that people will want to throw their computer, but hey, that is how the cookie crumbles. Don't we all remember the days in the arcade when you pushed left - right - light punch and a sonic boom never happened (street fighter reference) and you lost the entire game? It seems that everyone wants to go running around with "God Mode On". Gone are the days of randomness, gone are the days of thinking....
Another facet (not to be confused with faucet) of the game
Look we are know that there are going to be 2 clickers and recreational players, but there are players that want more out of the game. This adds another angle, another way for those players to become involved. I know personally, I'm going to be looking to take advantage of equipment. Using the auction market to the best of my ability. This is one way that I personally can get ahead, and for many others, this is a way that you guys can get ahead. Haven't the newer players ever looked at their damage, and then see someone hit 4 times as much, and they are obviously 2 clickers. Now, THAT is the definition of frustration.
Final Thought
Like many, I was a little disappointed about this addition, however, after thinking about it for a while, and testing it out on testura, I'm actually coming around to thinking that this is a good thing. In online games I've always been a huge fan of advantages that work in the favour of DEDICATED PLAYERS. This in my mind, works for dedicated players. Sure, VISA players can just buy their way to getting optimal equipment, but we honestly can't complain, they are putting real life money into it. Just remember, everyone was opposed to buffs, vacation, spas, etc, but know people are starting to see the advantages. Just give it time. I'm sure people will get turned.
Please feel free to add your thoughts is the comments. But please, try to make your comments coherent.
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth.
Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit
different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be
efficiently
managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation.
Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the
game.
Work for the good of your country and
see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules.
First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you
will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress
as a fighter.
You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which
are owned by the state.
After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your
own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock
company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
"E-Sim is one of the most unique browser games out there"
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics
in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes.
From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability
to run for the head of the party you're in.
You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws
proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself.
Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you.
You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential
elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state
(for example, who to declare war on).
Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have
a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military.
In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control
over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials.
For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have
to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on
their territory.
You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life
as a pacifist
who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling
products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game.
It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present
in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth
according to their own.
So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
Invest, produce and sell - be an entrepreneur in E-Sim.
Take part in numerous events for the E-Sim community.
