After being out of contact with us for several days, the Interim President of Indonesia, Atsuko Maeda , finally confirms that they have rejected our proposed NAP + Rental + MPP agreement. This comes just days after their MoFA, ellusive , believed that the agreement would pass with no problems.

Here was the agreement proposed to Indonesia's Congress that was rejected (Google doc link of agreement here ):
South Korea/Indonesia Rental Agreement and Non-Aggression Pact
August 31, 2012
Rental of Jeolla
South Korea and Indonesia agree to the following terms:

Indonesia will pay a weekly sum of 5 Gold to South Korea every Sunday starting on Sunday September 2nd and ending on Saturday September 30th. The payments will be established via contract between South Korea Org and Indonesia Org and each one will represent payment for the upcoming week’s rent.
There will be no rental fee for the period of Wednesday August 29th through Saturday September 1st.
South Korea and Indonesia will declare peace in the open war between the two countries. After the war is closed, a mutual protection pact will be maintained between them. In addition to their weekly rental fee, Indonesia will cover the expense of South Korea's cost of the mutual protection pact each month this agreement is in effect.

Non-Aggression Pact
This Non-Aggression Pact is in conjunction with the rental agreement outlined above. South Korea and Indonesia will agree to the following terms:

For the month of September, both South Korea and Indonesia agree not to attack each other’s regions or declare war on each other.
South Korea agrees not to start a Resistance War in Jeolla, nor fight on the side of the resistance should a Resistance War be started there by an outside party. Should a RW be started by an outside party, Sk agrees to set official orders to fight on the side of Indonesia.
In the event that an outside party starts a Resistance War in Jeolla and succeeds in liberating the region from Indonesia, South Korea agrees to return the region to Indonesia in compliance with the NAP and Rental agreement. The following rental payment will be reduced by 0.75 Gold per day that Indonesia is not in control of Jeolla.

If any of the terms of the agreement are breeched, both the Non-Aggression Pact between South Korea and Indonesia, and rental agreement for Jeolla, will become null and void.
Both countries’ representatives agree to return to negotiate an extension of these agreements on the 7th day of October.

Signed,

It was a pretty cushy deal for them: cheap rent, a NAP that ensured stability in the region, and an MPP that would provide additional support for them in Jeolla should it be attacked by Serbian-backed Taiwan. But I guess that was not enough for them, so I do not know what else to say. There was no counter-offer, just an outright rejection.

I'm sorry it did not work out the way it should have, maybe after the next Presidential election the situation will right itself.

In other news, here's the rest of an article I wrote several days ago when I was just waiting for them to pass the agreement.

ROK Armed Forces:
We now have a government-backed military unit available, the ROK Armed Forces . This Novice unit is free to South Korean citizens, but you must be active and follow orders so that we are not potentially wasting gold on your slot if the unit needs to expand to accommodate others.

South Korea Org Funds:
I'm proud to say that four days we have been in control of the bank, we have made 80 gold for the country. A lot of this has been through luck, but a country our size it's a huge amount. These funds have basically covered all the expenses of the creation and expansion of the ROK Armed Forces, so Korea has basically not spent any of it's original gold as of yet. I'm not sure if we'll be able to keep this up, but at the very least we were able to create the one thing many citizens were requesting without putting the government in the negative.

Our currency has also remained rock solid (mostly due to low demand), but rest-assured if our market comes under attack, we're prepared to right the ship as soon as possible. Someone would have to spend more Euros than there are citizens in eSouth Korea to be able to manipulate our monetary market.

IRC Channels:
As many of the other Secura nations are using the format “#secura.COUNTRYID” on Rizon, we will be using that format as well. So if you would like to join the English-speaking channel, you can find us in #secura.sk on irc.rizon.net .
The channel permissions are set as follow:
~ = President
@ = Cabinet
% = Congressman
+ = Citizen

There is also a channel for Korean-speakers. If you would like to join, you can find it at #esim on irc.HanIRC.org (mibbitweb is G-Lined on HanIRC or else I would provide a direct link).

Taxes:
They need to be changed, and our Minister of Finance has come up with a slate that he believes befitting of a country our size. We'll look to make the following changes in the near-future:
Type Inc Imp VAT
Food 5 15 5
Weapon 5 15 5
Gift 5 15 5
Ticket 5 15 5
Grain 99 1 *This assumes Indonesia won't be returning our Grain region that they took during the "training war."
Iron 99 1
Diamond 99 1
Oil 99 1
Stone 99 1
Wood 99 1
House 5 10 5
Estate 5 10 5
DS 5 10 0
Hospital 5 10 0

Interim Cabinet:
I was only appointed President by Congress for about a week, but here is who will be helping me run the country during the remaining days.
President: Afanasiy Drago
Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs: Chysamere
Commander of the ROK Armed Forces: 4LEAF
Minister of Entertainment: Kang Jae Teuk
Minister of Finance: Scyfi
Minister of Labor: Erumaron

Special thank you to 4LEAF for all of the help he has provided so far.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
