How to help the young 'uns? (Old article)

Well... that was certainly quick
It was less than a week ago when Poland was at the height of it's baby-boom, an event which many of us were astounded at. Poland were able to almost triple their popualation in just a few days which is a great feat i must admit, however as i logged on today i saw this:

Polands baby-boom has peaked and is receding, i find it almost ludicrous how quickly the population has halved and no doubt will drop a bit more before becoming stable. But of course this is commonplace isn't it? I heard around, that only 5%-15% of new players reach level 7. If that's the case, only around 90 to 270 of the 1,800 people who joined Poland during the baby boom will stay.

Something will have to be done to keep players with us for longer!

Let me lead your imagination for a moment:

You're on your computer
You see a link for a game
You happen to be one of the few who click on it
You decide it looks like your type of game and make an account

Now lets say that you've done all this (which the majority of people won't do) You click "work" and "train" and do your first bit of fighting. Now what is there to do?
For the majority of players the first log in is decisive, it will be the time when you decide whether it's worth coming back to the game the next day, it's the time when the game has to prove it's worth to the player.

However, once the new player has done his first bit of work and training, there is astonishingly little for him (or her) to do until the next day, and if the first day was unexciting, then they will not remember OR want to come back for the second day. It's this problem which has led nearly every baby boom to fail ---> The lack of excitement or challenge in the game until you're already hooked. I know i wouldn't be here if i was not trying to get to level 7 so my friend would get his gold.

So that's the problem we're facing. New players will continue to sign on, stay for a day and leave, all because there is nothing for them to do. There has been some implementations to help, such as the practice battle, however that only helps the level 5's, 6's and 7's. The first day players will not get a look in, and the first days are the most boring.

We need a way to make this game more interesting for the newer players, something which will want to make them come back tomorrow, something which will keep them interested until they are level 7, and actually able to do anything interesting in the game.

I can't offer ideas on how we do this, not only because none spring to mind, but also because I've just written a big article and can't be bothered to write any more so if you have an idea i suggest you write it in the comments under this article, raise an idea on the forums or just generally make a massive fuss about it and hopefully we'll get a new way of keeping the babbies happy.

This was in no way an attack at the development team or Admin . i spend a lot of my time on the game and think they are doing a good job, i just wish we had more people to play it with.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
