Discussion on downgrading Q5 Items (Old article)

I'll quote the idea from 'admin news' below.

The simplified concept of downgrading:



You downgrade a Q4 helmet into two random Q3 items. According to the abovementioned pattern you will get one Q3 helmet plus one random Q3 (you will not get 2 items of the same sort in order to avoid endless cloning of rare items such as armours)


tl;dr So, from a Q5 piece of $^@#%^@^crap you now have a chance to get yourself 2 Q4 craps or actually good items.

In the past(and currently) we've had a pretty stable auction-market where prices were more or less balanced.(except the so-rare armors and maybe the item vending helmets)

Current 'scheme' of merging' looks like this:


Every item except Q5 has an 'end' at some point and it cant be brought back, that's a good thing because just like weapons/food/gift the items are used up and the demand is stable. Problem we're currently facing is too many Q5 items that are simply crap and worthless. This is because the Q5 items don't have any kind of 'way out' from the game system.(like weapons,food,q1-4,gift,house,estate)

The idea from the developers will look like this:



Now that's pretty bad, not only the cycle can be repeated over and over again(almost infinite, except you get 2 lower grade items while 3 are needed to merge it 'higher' again.) But The Q5 is still not disappearing completely.(by that i mean something that wont come back to the cycle in form of an item.)

I predict that the idea from admin news will make a week-two of price-chaos in the Q5/Q4 range and we'll then see a drastic change of price in terms of Good q5 items. Drastic change of price is the price of Q5 items being far lower than what we have now. It may vary depending on servers. Primera - no gold from 'buying'. And Secura 'gold buying' that creates another uncontrolled flow of gold into the game.
tl;dr : prices will go down so that Q5 items will become pretty much worthless(good q5 items) and with that happening we will have a Q6 implemented to save the auction market if the prices go that bad(similar to ecRapublik?)

I had an idea that was shared with few people already about how to tackle the problem of Q5 worthless value. And the idea is very simple.

3xQ5 crap items = 1 Upgrader (Random)

What do i mean by that ? we change 3 X q5 crap items into 1 random upgrader that could potentially improve your already existing Q5 item into something better/improved. Potential 'upgrade' list below
+0.2% Crit chance
+0.2% Avoid chance
-0.5% Miss chance
+0.2% max dmg
+0.2% dmg
+hit (Current hit/strength should be sligtly increased, so i'm leaving these open)
+strength(Current hit/strength should be sligtly increased, so i'm leaving these open)


So if i'm a lucky owner of 9 Q5 crap item and i decide to change them into 'Upgraders'
and lets say that for example i got myself 2x +0.2% crit and 1x 0.2% dmg
and if is used it on one of my items.

then this item will change from

- Increase critical chance by 5.78%- Increase damage by 5.52%

to
- Increase critical chance by 6.18%- Increase damage by 5.72%


So that's how the 'upgraders' cycle will look like:


Now every Qx item has a 'way out' so that the demand will stay high and items could be improved slightly over an amount of time.

However, the % of upgraders have to stay pretty low and they must be well-balanced too, also there must be some kind of 'total max' value for %/hit/strength (like 40% crit and avoid) to make sure that they dont get over-powered.

But hey! it's just an idea.

I'd like you to treat this topic as a discussion about the change to merging/downgrading items, I'm making this article as a player that's not happy with the solution to the problem. Please comment on the situation and let me know what do you think about the whole idea, I understand that many of you will be for/against/divided/unsure so the comment section is the best place to make sure you understand how the game might be affected by the 'fix' of q5 items.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.


In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.


You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).


At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
