Hi Australia,

Good job on blanking CW loyalists the other day, we now have a stronger government, despite the fact I was removed from my congress position :I. Today, I want to tackle another topic that has been my mind lately, equipment! I have designed a simple tool to compare two sets of equipment as pictured below. It isn't too user-friendly nor is it easy to transfer to others so for now I am the only person in its possession although I would be happy to distribute the application.

The tool is simple. All it does is simulate x amount of hits with the stats given. It can either do it mathematically or simulate each hit with a random probabilities (obviously considerably slower but arguably more accurate).

I do this for two sets of equipments and can therefore compare equipment head-on or entire sets. This allowed me to discover combinations of my equipment that was better than I expected. Namely is better (in every way) than in combination with the rest of my (crappy) equipment even when my miss chance was/is at 2.1% instead of 0%. A common misconception is that reducing miss chance to 0% is always the best but it is not always the case depending on how it interacts with other equipment and what you want.

What I've learnt in a nutshell

AVOID CHANCE > MISS CHANCE > MAXIMUM DAMAGE > CRITICAL CHANCE ~ INCREASE DAMAGE > HIT INCREASE ~ INCREASE STRENGTH

*note avoid chance is the 3rd best stat for average damage

A balance between average damage and top damage of an equipment set depend on the goal of the player (more XP/damage or more gold or cheapest set).

Avoid chance is capped at 40%, I didn't realize this until I was done writing this article but yeah...

What's the best theoretical equipment set then?

It depends what you want. If you want to deal damage quick, you want a bang for your hit which might be good for BH hunting and cheaper fights but if you want to deal way more damage in a longer amount of time for a higher cost in weapon you would have a different set. I will explain both possibilities but probably the highest average damage is more interesting for most players. I am basing max stats on the wiki page which says the following:

Q5 Hit increased by 60-70
Q5 Increase strength by 28-32
Q5 Miss chance reduced by 6-7.5%
Q5 Increased critical chance by 4-6%
Q5 Increases maximum damage by 8-12%
Q5 Increased damage by 4-6%
Q5 Chance to avoid health loss by 4-6%

Highest Damage/XP
First the most-damaging equipment (and incidentally the most XP-gaining). The best avoid equipment would be +12% avoid (2 stats per item). BTW, the odds of one equipment popping up is 0.000357142857% (presuming equal odd for each 0.01% and each equip attribute but I actually think higher stats are exponentially rarer) which is about 1 in 300000 q5 equips. The best equipment set has a probability of approximately 0% (1/5.5e17%) to even exist in all of eSim let alone be in possession of a player. In other words, this will NEVER happen in all of eSim history unless admin starts making q7 equipment like another game I knew...

The best equipment set-up I've found so far in this category is King Konkey who is at 78.6% of a perfect equip set which is actually +65% avoid and default everything else. This combo allows you to hit ~1.71 times as much than with 5% avoid. So long as you can afford the huge cost in weapons, the holder of this set will deal a lot more than anyone else.

Highest Average Damage
Highest Average Damage is better for BH hunters and players that a finite budget for weapons as it allows for a higher damage per hit and therefore more damage/sec. For those that don't know, increase max damage is known and proven to be mathematically better than critical chance as strength tends to infinity. In this case, it was found to be better to get the miss chance down to zero.

I played around with the values and to my surprise I found the best set was max damage +72%, 24.5% critical chance, and 0% miss AT THIS STAGE IN THE GAME. I was setting base hit values to 4k and 6k which is roughly what a top player might have as a base hit with max strength and top rank however, as people gain more strength it will eventually be better to have +94% max damage, 0% miss and default everything else. I might figure out the intersection point for next article if I feel motivated but know that eventually max damage will always be better.

What makes AVOID CHANCE special? Think of compound interest, you have 1$ and earn 1% every week off your total money. After about 5 and a half years you'd be a millionaire (not too bad considering your initial investment ).

“Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it ... he who doesn't ... pays it.”
― Albert Einstein

The same is going for AVOID chance, you are earning hits off your earned hits which makes this stat incredibly powerful. Of note, to unleash AVOID chance true powers you need to have a set that only increases AVOID chance because having 100% avoid is infinitely better than 99.9% avoid because with 100% you could simply spam the berserk forever. button all round with , the same holds for lower amounts (10.01% avoid is EXPONENTIALLY better than 10%).

Due to the above, I found that the theoretical best equipment set-up are five pieces of q5 equipment each increasing avoid hit chance is actually 34.3% better XP-wise, 17.5% better damage-wise than five pieces of q5 equipment that get the miss chance to zero and have 53% avoid Damage.

This is not completely solid as maximum damage is only better after a point ~6k because the percentage increase and the above only applies to total damage and xp not damage per sec which would be more helped by maximum damage than anything else. Also, a high avoid chance could cost a lot more in weapons than anything else.

I have details forever but I think that's good for equipment talk now. I may start a series comparing two people's equipment and talking about what they do in game, any suggestions of players are welcome but I think I will kick off the series with King Konkey and Account 2 of the best XP-earners, if they accept.

Until next time,

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
