is a simulation/game I am creating. It will mainly be a government simulator akin to Sim City, I am a huge fan of Sim City exclusively because of it’s monetary and government simulation.
The game will be top down, 2d, and visually based on functional detail rather than aesthetics. It will be 2d + top down because the simulation itself will probably need a good amount of processing power. Also the game will be 2d because that will be most easiest to get running and coded. overall the simulation and the game wont be to complex, it’s not until it gets bigger and more widespread that it will become extremely complex.
I have no plans to learn C/C#/C++ to code it, I plan to code it in Java if possible (and I think it is). I am still an extreme beginner at java and thus I will not start creating the game until I am confident I can code it normally. I will however start production immediately if I decide to get a team together to build it, I am accepting offers to join.
I have a very good understanding of physics, data management (?), and other principles that are helping me develop the basics of the game.
Neopets- Since I was very small I always loved neopets, you would play with your little creature in order for it to grow stronger and for you to get more neopoints. You would expend energy in respect to your skill on games in order to get neopoints, it did get old after time playing the same games many many times over but it still was the prospect that you were reaping rewards from it and gaining neopoints. The stock market was also intriguing, you would wait until it was low and you bought, and then you sold when it was high, it makes perfect sense. I didn’t really play the games so much as I got older, but instead turned to the stock market to make all my neopoints, I wasn’t that good at it, but it was just as fun as the games, I suppose it was a game itself. I turned away from neopets finally because I wanted a more complex stock market simulation, I wanted to be able to gain amounts of cash through some arbitrary process, and I wanted to be able to spend that money in order to better something.
Sim City was, and still is amazing, I have always been a big fan. What made me love Sim City the most is the amazing amount of detail in the simulation, I could put a residential area nested inside a industrial area and in Sim City 4 it would probably grow in density (if it was the dense type), and the overall quality of life would be miserable for the sims in that area. You would have to spend your money wisely in order to expand without collapsing, random events (GODZILLA!!) would start and you would have to rebuild in the aftermath, a dynamic system of interactions was born through Sim City. In the sims 2/1 you were confined in one houseblock if you wanted to leave that area you would need to call a taxi and wait, then you would have to get in the taxi and drive away, and then you would have to wait a long time for it to load, and you still couldn’t go next door. Aparently in the sims 3 you can dynamically stream between houses, you can walk through the entire town and it will load as you go. In all of the Sim City games, you were confined to your allotted space, you couldn’t leave that area, you send goods out of the area, but you couldn’t leave. Even in Sim City 4 where you had neighbor Cities that you could operate, you couldn’t leave easily, you had to go to the region menu, and then enter the other city.
ERepublik finally pushed me over the edge. I found it via advertisement on some website, and was pleasantly surprised to see that it had some simulation in it. It seems a more social networking site although it has the people interacting for common goals in “countries”. It doesn’t really stand up to Neopets or Sim City, but it does have a level of interaction the you cant find in either Sim City or Neopets. You work at a job and obtain money for use with trade(?) and gaining levels, that’s fine and not that fantastic, but when you combine that commerce with social interaction you get a very realistic model of how the world works, I’m not saying that’s how ERepublik or how the world works in general, I’m saying that it would make an amazing.
To combine Sim City’s city building and governmental simulation, with Neopets self-monetary simulation, and ERepublik’s (even though it has nothing to do with ERepublik and only has to do with my perception of it) social monetary simulation, would be an amazing task, it would also produce amazing results. A game (or simulation) that you build a city, you interact with the city and its people, you gain money through the city, you expand, you set up trade routes with other peoples cities, you and your comrades develop a nation, your nation sets up trade routes to others nations, and you and your fellow people defend and expand and do the many endeavors that you will face. All the while the system you are working with is expanding and growing and shifting to encompass more and more concepts.
I used to think of amazing concepts of game design, (I’m not that much of a nerd, I do have a life) I still do, all of them usually would be to complex to actually simulate. Then I came up with a game design that would be able to run on most computers, it would simulate monetary systems and other things, and provide immense social interactions with other people (something that most people love to no end), and it is practical. Although it wouldn’t be 3d, most of the best games weren’t 3d anyway, 2d top-down is the most logical dimension for a game at this scale, it could look amazing while still being runnable, it would be extremely dynamic (if all goes well), and it could encompass such vast concepts that would enable it to be extremely diverse.

War is an inevitable part of interaction between countries, if someone wants more land, or power, or they perceive another country as a threat they take that country over or at least fight them. At every level you have war, crime in cities = war, stealing and (physical) pirating = war, war = war, you can’t ever get away from war. Sim City left out war (I’m not complaining it would be hard to integrate in Sim City) at higher levels (actual war war), it also didn’t really have the socioeconomic need to simulate war. However with a much better socioeconomic simulation = war.
GTA or Grand Theft Auto was and still is a classic game, GTA1, GTA2, GTA3, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas, are all classics. I will never forget the days laying around being extremely lazy making excuses for why I’m not mowing the lawn, and playing GTA San Andreas, and before that GTA Vice City, and before that GTA 3, and before that GTA 2. You applied your skill for shooting cops in the head for progressing in the game, you got money to buy weapons, and you got stars (heads earlier) if you got into trouble with the police. I don’t have anything to apply really, I just wanted to mention it.
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth.
Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit
different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be
efficiently
managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation.
Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the
game.
Work for the good of your country and
see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules.
First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you
will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress
as a fighter.
You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which
are owned by the state.
After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your
own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock
company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
"E-Sim is one of the most unique browser games out there"
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics
in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes.
From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability
to run for the head of the party you're in.
You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws
proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself.
Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you.
You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential
elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state
(for example, who to declare war on).
Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have
a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military.
In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control
over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials.
For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have
to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on
their territory.
You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life
as a pacifist
who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling
products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game.
It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present
in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth
according to their own.
So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
