First impressions and Q6 items (Fun)

Hello all!

I'm Mike Rotch! I'd like to start my first article written here at e-sim with a few first impressions...

To give you a little bit of background, I started playing eRep many years ago, around day 366 if I remember correctly. Due to a divorce and all the RL things that come with that, I quit playing right before the V2 release. With a friend of mine we created quite a strong political presence and were well known at the time.

Years later I am here trying out a game that is modeling V1 eRep. This made me extremely excited since I tried V2 eRep for a few days and hated it...

I've ranked up quite a bit and feel like I'm doing well here. However, I really wish there were more in-game user interaction. There is no forum like eRep had which is really sad. In addition, the newspaper system is not nearly as refined when it comes to people being able to browse articles (yet here I am, voicing my opinion through a newspaper). Lastly, and the largest of my problems, is the crappy Wiki for the site. First off, every server should get it's own Wiki since each server has a different story, different users, and different events. Unfortunately, there isn't enough people willing to support and contribute to the Wiki.

I attempted to create a Wiki page for myself and created an account just to be told I didn't have the permissions to create a page for my own character. This is quite disappointing...

However, I have found that the game does bring back old memories, to an extent. I'd love to see more interaction (outside of antiquated IRC) and integration of such communication within the game. In addition, we are all creating history day-by-day but no one seems to want to write it. I've worked hard to gain knowledge of the history on the Secura server and it seems that someone without experience in such a game would be so overwhelmed by having to research, as opposed to a Wiki page to give a brief history, that they would quit in frustration. I don't want to see that happen.

And in a brief comment, I'd like to say that those complaining about Q6 equipment and the fact the people who make this game are "in it for the money" are fools for two reasons. FIrst, as players progress, eventually many people have all Q5 equipment. They have to make Q6 to let the elite players separate a little. In addition, of COURSE they do it for the money. Don't you realize they PAY MONEY to run the server, buy bandwidth, and house this whole thing? They have to pay the bills somehow. If you threaten to quit the game because of Q6 stuff then please feel free to leave. You have a false sense of entitlement that makes you think everything should be free.

All in all I am enjoying the game. Also, I have put in my candidacy for party president of the American Independence Party. If you have read this far and realized the truth of what I've said, then please feel free to join and vote for me! I don't expect to win, but I do expect there to be a few people who understand what I've said.

That's it for The Daily Meow today! If you'd like to talk to me, feel free to PM!

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
