I have abstained recently from writing political articles about particular political parties and have general talked in broad strokes. That's not because I didn't have anything to say or felt it was not necessary to say anything, but because I figured it was best to stay as a-political as possible in my function has CEO of FCIB. However since then I have realized that being in a position of economic leadership does not free me of my civic responsibilities and as such I have decided to write this article.
None the less I won't be directly condemning any particular political parties and I won't be directly commending political parties. At least not right now. However I will be speaking in general about things that I observed and how I feel about them, and one I feel needs to be improved.
For one, I have noticed a general disconnect between the people and their government. Of course they interact on election day, but even that's surprisingly minor. For one on the day of the election, Kizmit, the incumbent, got a mere 23 votes (as of the writing of this article) on his CP platform article. I know that's surprisingly little, as I regularly surpass that in my articles and I know for a fact I'm not particularly popular. So what happened to have cause this? For one his platform was rather vague, suggesting things would improve but making no real attempt to convey what will improve or how. Due to this it isn't much a surprise his article didn't get many votes. None the less he proceeded to win, which isn't quite surprising as the other candidates were rather lack luster/went on to endorse the incumbent anyway.
This is communication between the people and the government at it's second best, it's first best being the months old, but none the less helpful, articles it re links for newbies to see and learn from. Other then those things we are left with no contact other than supplies and battle orders, it's all one way.= from them to us.
However what isn't one way are the tax dollars, of which we pay from VAT and Income Tax and never here much from again. We are left with no clue whatsoever as to the mechanics of how our money is spent, and citizens who have never been in politics don't fret, the congress doesn't get a lick of information either. I know, I've been there and left frustrated.
The reasoning behind this is not wanting "the enemy" to get this information and use it to their advantage... some how.
Mind you I understand the importance of national secrets, however I'd like to know how much of our money is used for what field, how much goes to Private MU's, how much goes and comes from government ran companies, etc. The numbers for particular operations are not needed, but we need some public budgeting.
There have been responses to this secrecy and general "Top down" approach from the government, weather it comes from the right (government shouldn't use tax money to pay unrealistic wages) or the left (more power to the workers, direct democracy) that are most defiantly bubbling up. It's inevitable there will be a conflict between the old guard and the new guard, and will likely come by congress election day. This conflict I feel is good if it means revitalization, as I feel the New will eventually prevail, however it is important to remember we don't lapse into wreck less idealism. If the Right-wing prevails and all public institutions are dissolved and taxes at 0%, it will do us no good. If the Left-wing prevails and we are left with a neutered government that goes to the polls over every issue with no room to make temporally unpopular long term decisions, it will do us no good.
It would do us all good, however, if we kept the 3 words in the title as watch words, making sure oru government is Accountable, empirical and Pragmatic.
By Accountable, I mean the government is willing to explain to the people what, it's programs are, why they are put in place and why they operated, will making sure to give them information on what their taxes are doing exactly. For example, no more secret criteria for loans from the MoF make it clearly written out so we all know before hand what the requirements are, also the conditions of all loans must be available for all.
We must have empirical government, government that acts based on the public good results of it's programs, information is gathered in order to make sure that all actions are logically sound. For example, does it makes sense to have 99% Import taxes on products we can produce, what would it's effects be on the economy and is it worth it?
Lastly and very importantly, we need pragmatic government. This perhaps applies most to the new players who come in with big bright idealistic visions. Do not drag in you're concepts for utopia unless you know for sure, through evidence, that it will in fact work here and increase our power and by extension fun here.
Also lastly, on a separate note.=, despite the differences between the new and their ideals for change, we must work together if we make an impact and not tear each other down, I know for a fact I'm guilty of that. the best chance we have is keeping solidarity and working together. Once we have achieved our main goal, we can work out our disagreements
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth.
Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit
different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be
efficiently
managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation.
Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the
game.
Work for the good of your country and
see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules.
First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you
will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress
as a fighter.
You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which
are owned by the state.
After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your
own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock
company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
"E-Sim is one of the most unique browser games out there"
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics
in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes.
From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability
to run for the head of the party you're in.
You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws
proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself.
Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you.
You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential
elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state
(for example, who to declare war on).
Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have
a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military.
In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control
over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials.
For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have
to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on
their territory.
You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life
as a pacifist
who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling
products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game.
It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present
in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth
according to their own.
So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
