Powstanie wybuchło na terenie warszawskiego getta 19 kwietnia 1943 roku. Powstanie w getcie warszawskim trwało do połowy maja 1943 roku. Było pierwszą akcją zbrojną o dużej skali podjętą przez polskie organizacje podziemne przeciwko hitlerowcom, jak również pierwszym miejskim powstaniem w okupowanej Europie. Bezpośrednią przyczyną powstania była likwidacja getta warszawskiego i stopniowe mordowanie jego mieszkańców, dokonywane w ramach podjętego przez hitlerowców planu zagłady europejskich.
Getto warszawskie było zamkniętą i otoczoną murem dzielnicą położoną w północno-zachodniej części centralnej Warszawy, w której uwięziono Żydów warszawskich oraz przesiedlonych z gett w innych miejscowościach. Pierwsze mury wokół getta zaczęto wznosić już 1 kwietnia 1940. Początkowo uwięziono w nim wszystkich mieszkańców Warszawy, których według rasistowskich ustaw norymberskich uznano za Żydów. W kolejnych miesiącach do getta przywożono też osoby z terenu całej przedwojennej Rzeczypospolitej , a także terenów III Rzeszy oraz innych krajów europejskich. W jego obrębie do marca 1941 roku zgromadzono ok. 460 tys. osób. Tym samym getto osiągnęło gęstość zaludnienia sięgającą 146 tys. osób na 1 km².
Siły powstańcze składały się najprawdopodobniej z około 1000-1500 słabo uzbrojonych bojowników: ok. 220-800 z ŻOB (w tym wiele kobiet) i 150-400 z ŻZW (tylko mężczyzn) oraz nieznana liczba (kilkuset) powstańców w innych, luźnych grupach, niepowiązanych z tymi organizacjami (w tym członków działających w getcie grup o charakterze przestępczym).
Siły niemieckie zaangażowane w stłumienie powstania liczyły ok. 2000 ludzi, w tym 830 grenadierów pancernych i kawalerzystów SS , 234 żandarmów (bataliony 1 i 3 z 22 pułku Ordnungspolizei, SD i Gestapo ), 59 żołnierzy lekkiej artylerii przeciwlotniczej i saperów Wehrmachtu (wydzielone oddziały z batalionu saperów pociągów pancernych i 14 rezerwowego batalionu saperów), 337 żołnierzy z litewskich i łotewskich policyjnych oddziałów pomocniczych (tzw. Askaris) oraz części szkoleniowego batalionu ukraińskiego z obozu w Trawnikach.
W likwidacji getta uczestniczyło też 367 funkcjonariuszy polskiej Policji Generalnego Gubernatorstwa , którzy tworzyli kordon wokół murów getta. Zabezpieczenie techniczne stanowiła m.in. złożona z Polaków warszawska straż pożarna w sile jednej kompanii.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).
