Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, First Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army, guided the test-fire of surface-to-surface medium long-range strategic ballistic missile Hwasong-10.
At a watch post he gave an order to conduct the missile test-fire after hearing a report on its plan.
The test-fire of Hwasong-10 was carried out by the high-angle fire system under the simulation of its maximum range.
The ballistic missile took off a self-propelled launching ramp and accurately landed in the targeted waters forward 400 km after flying to the maximum height of 1 413. 6 km along the planned flight orbit.
The test-fire confirmed the flying kinetic feature of Korean-style ballistic missile with an updated system and its safety and control as well as the technical specifications of newly-designed rocket structure and its dynamic system. It also verified the heat-resistance capability of warhead in the re-entry section and its flight stability.
It provided a sure sci-tech guarantee for developing the system of strategic weapons.
The test-fire was successfully conducted without giving any slightest effect to the security of surrounding countries.
Expressing great satisfaction over the test results, he said with joy that this happy news would give the conviction in sure victory and optimism to the army and people of the DPRK and that it is a great event as it strikingly demonstrated again the invincible might of Juche Korea.
Not only the enemy but also the whole world may properly assess the capability of the DPRK's medium long-range strategic ballistic missile only with its flight track, he said, declaring with conviction: We have sure capability to attack in an overall and practical way the Americans in the Pacific operation theatre.
To reliably defend the security of the country and its people from the constant threats of the US and other hostile forces, we should have powerful offensive means able to pose a constant threat to the enemy, he said, adding: It is needed to increase in a sustained way our preemptive nuclear attack capability and continue the study and development of diverse strategic attack weapons.
The real foe our nuclear force has to confront is a nuclear war itself, he said, stressing that the nuclear attack capability should be steadily bolstered up to protect the country and its people and the Korean revolution from the US imperialists' nuclear threat.
The current test-fire marked an important occasion in further strengthening the nuclear attack capacity of our state, he said, stressing the need to more thoroughly establish the unitary leadership and management system over the strategic nuclear force.
In congratulation of the successful test-fire of surface-to-surface medium long-range strategic ballistic missile Hwasong-10, he had a photo session with the defence science soldiers involved in the test-fire.

Según el resultado de prueba fueron confirmadas las características aerodinámicas, la seguridad y el control de nuestro cohete balístico con sistema modernizado y las características técnicas de su estructura y sistema energético diseñados nuevamente, así como las características resistentes al calor y la seguridad de vuelo de la ojiva en el tramo de reentrada.
A través del presente lanzamiento fue preparada la firme garantía científica y técnica para el desarrollo del sistema de las armas estratégicas.
El presente lanzamiento se realizó con éxito sin dar ninguna influencia a la seguridad de los países circunvecinos.
El Mariscal mostró una gran satisfacción del resultado de la prueba y dijo con alegría que esta noticia contenta sobre la fulminante victoria deviene un gran acontecimiento que dio la convicción y el optimismo en la victoria segura al ejército y el pueblo y volvió a demostrar claramente el poderío invencible de la Corea Juche.
Al ver sólo la órbita del vuelo, tanto los enemigos como el mundo pueden evaluar correctamente la capacidad del cohete balístico estratégico de mediano y largo alcance, señaló y agregó que tenemos la capacidad segura de atacar de manera total y práctica a los yanquis dentro del teatro de operación del Pacífico.
A fin de garantizar con firmeza la seguridad de la patria y el pueblo desde la amenaza permanente de las fuerzas hostiles incluyendo Estados Unidos, es preciso poseer el poderoso medio de ataque capaz de amenazar siempre a los enemigos, subrayó y se refirió a la necesidad de ampliar y fortalecer de manera constante la capacidad de ataque nuclear preventiva y seguir investigando y desarrollando diversas armas de ataque estratégico.
El enemigo verdadero de nuestras fuerzas armadas nucleares es la misma guerra nuclear, acotó y añadió que debemos formar incesantemente la capacidad de ataque nuclear para salvaguardar la patria, el pueblo y la revolución desde la amenaza nuclear de los imperialistas norteamericanos.
El presente lanzamiento de prueba sirvió de un importante motivo por fortalecer aún más la capacidad de ataque nuclear de nuestro Estado, dijo y enfatizó la necesidad de establecer más estrictamente la dirección única y el sistema de administración única sobre las fuerzas armadas estratégicas.
