Report

Greetings gentle reader and welcome to Generic Media's first Congress report.

For this report I will be looking at the class of Congressmen that was elected January 25th and whose term just ended. Full disclosure, it's a group of citizens that I was part of and the motivation for culling this data was to see if there were any outstanding Congress members and how I stacked up against them.

Also, the purpose of this article is to inform the public and perhaps make them take note of what exactly they are getting in exchange for their votes.

Congress can play many roles but in the context of Secura as it stands right now, its Prime Directive is pretty simple... be active, vote. Congress is only as useful as the speed to which it can react.

It should be noted that the odds of having a perfect participation score in Congress are very slim. Because most votes only require a simple majority, not every Congress person will get to vote on every law. That being said, a very modest goal of 50% participation rate is more than acceptable and should be the goal of every member and the bar by which the public judges.

The January Congress started the month with 21 members:
42.9% Manifest Destiny (MD) with 9 members.
33.3% American Freedom Alliance (AFA) with 7 members.
19% We the People (WTP) with 4 members.
4.8% Bhutan Democratic Party (BDP) with 1 member.

The January Congress had to deal with 60 law proposals.
68.3% were proposed by members of MD.
15% came from sources outside of Congress.
11.7% were proposed by members of WTP.
3.3% were proposed by members of AFA.

To answer the earlier implied question of whether or not there were any outstanding Congress members, four in particular stood out and they were all members of MD. Their participation rates were as follows:
lippy MD 95.0%
zorica MD 91.7%
qooslunchbox MD 90.0%
harmcity MD 90.0%

These members were virtually always present and made sure the business of Congress moved along. Seven more members passed the bar of break even participation rates.
Cybex WTP 85.0%
AYMANOV MD 83.3%
Beldo BDP 78.6%
Ghost Legion AFA 73.3%
reo_ WTP 68.3%
Death Spirit AFA 60.0%
AcidBurn MD 51.7%

**Note that Beldo only participated in 14 votes after which point he no longer was part of Congress**

The rest of the list of Congress members contain members who all had extended absences in the voting process.
Molly Emma WTP 46.7%
Bajra_Mertojak MD 43.3%
StarRadser AFA 38.3%
samokar AFA 36.7%
Pitka MD 31.7%
oguzalek MD 30.0%
chovalcuk AFA 28.3%
Mishti WTP 28.3%
Gianni Corbetto AFA 18.3%
johanson AFA 8.3%

If we aggregate voting participation by party, the numbers look like this:
BDP 78.6%
MD 67.4%
WTP 57.1%
AFA 37.6%

**Again noting that the BDP only participated in 14 votes**

We now see that in February, the party with the worse participation rate now constitutes the majority. It will be interesting to see if they are motivated to do better or if they continue their pattern of sitting on the sidelines.

Secura is going through interesting times and we need active stewardship, Congress is one facet of that necessary leadership.

Thank you.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
