Heyy... Recently I've played not too often. So much so I wouldn't say that I even do double click anymore. Well, maybe just once a week or two the old addiction reminds me about its existence and I'm gonna click click, you know TRAIN, WORK, whatever. Then I'm gonna look if there's anything going on (*spoiler: nothing's going on*) and then I start to do something else/I go back to my grey, boring life behind the other side of the screen.
Sounds familiar?
Actually it was reading of an article by one new Polish player which made me to write the following text. All in all, this very article you're reading right now, is an English translation of my Polish article which was itself part of a paraphrase and part of an extension of my argument with one other Polish citizen in the comments below the first article (the one written by the new player). That new player noticed that we don't have any real challenges in the game anymore. You know, so that people still want to do anything. Like, just look how many players we used to play with, and how many of them are still there. It's not like we are getting any decent amount of newcomers. What's more - we are steadily declining in our numbers.
Although what I'm going to say following this sentence, has mostly to do with internal politics and mindset of Polish players, I hope many of you can also relate to it to some extent. I think that the biggest threat to e-Poland (or to any other e-country) is not the fact of disappearing from the map. Of course we Poles do not have nice experiences with it after being a victim of to such events in real life - first in the late 18th century (123 years with just a little gap during the Napoleonic era) and then in the 20th (this time officially only for a few years but with horrific consequences and almost 50 years of following communist occupation). But other nations also didn't have it easy like: Latvia (about 50 yrs), Armenia (a few hundreds of yrs), Israel (nearly to 2000 yrs, I'm not only Polish but also Jewish
) to name the few. So most of us can agree on the fact that not being on the map in real life might end up quite tragic. But well, this is just a game. It's not like somebody will actually die or something if such an event happens. And that's exactly why I think we should not be afraid of it here. You see, in my opinion the biggest threat to any county in e-Sim is the illusion of safety. You know, the illusion which pretty quickly leads to stagnation - like, you know, nothing's happening. I know that we have cups, leagues, world wars and so on. Right, but... the thing is I'm not buying it anymore. These things are not appealing enough so as to make me sit in front of the screen and spend this couple of hours on actually playing E-sim, rather than slowly decomposing in my bed while watching series/youtube/some nasty stuff on the internet, scrolling through things on fb or just looking mindlessly into the ceiling. You get the idea.

I feel that E-sim lost it's original atmosphere. While on the temporary servers it is visible a little bit less (there's still some fun there from time to time), on the permanent servers it is pretty much the thing. At least on Secura, as frankly speaking I've never played any other perma. But I guess, it's pretty similar there, correct me if I'm being wrong here.
So, what was the original idea of e-Sim? Well, to have interactions with real people on the other side of the screen. Sometimes they were the kind of people with whom we would agree, yet sometimes they were the kind of people we wouldn't want to have any interaction with whatsoever. Or they were trolls. The thing was we could be anybody we would like to be - a politician and a voter, an entrepreneur and a worker, a general and a simple soldier. We could buy and sell products on a free market. We could be CEOs and shareholders. We could - after getting into power - manage the goods entrusted to us wisely, but we could also stupidly screw it all up making our company / military unit / country (and our carrier) to go f*ck itself. Yes, we could do mistakes and tonnes of bad stuff. Yes, sometimes it was terrible. But you know what? It was a lot of thing just happening. And it was fun.

So how it is right now? At all cost we are trying to preserve the status quo, there are occasional fluctuations but overall everything stays just the same. Generally there're no many battles, but if any, they are huge behemoths with hundreds of millions of damage. The players with post EXP win the whole rounds, while the rest is pretty insignificant. And then you have the newcomers, well, coming. And what do they see? Theoretically the game might be fun but it is not. In politics there's an old "Arrangement" - the people who are there essentially every election and they just rotate the posts in the government/congress, the parties being a pure fiction right now. And when this newcomer comes, they quite quickly hear that actually they are welcome and so on but... just should leave the politics for the old stagers. Why? Because they (the newcomer) have no idea about politics and are inherently wrong. Well, to be honest, yeah. Usually the newcomers have now idea about how the politics work. Usually they are inherently wrong.
But I'm going to ask: AND WHAT? And what would happen if they turn out to be complete noobs? What would happen if we argue? If we do something stupid. Let's assume that we let chaos happen. Like, even the great "balagan", a total disaster. Oy vey! What's the worst thing that can happen? Well the country will fall, sure. But is it such a tragedy? As I've said - I understand in the real life - war, fear, famine, people dying, generally hopelessness and lack of further perspectives. But here we can quite easily bounce back if we'd like to - it's just a GAME after all. And you know, why do we play games? Don't we all just want to forget for a moment about that grey, sad reality around us, the more grey and the more sad the older we get? An you know, like the universe hasn't been helpful with that recently.
And meanwhile on Secura? The very same thing: it's grey, silent, repeatable, boring. And you start to think: it's not that much different to my life - actually, it's not different at all, I'm off, sayonara. It's even more important when it comes to a newcomer, because we, the very old stagers - at this point it's really most of us - do have a habit. And they do not. You know, the kind of a habit like browsing that nasty stuff on the darker side of the internet - whether because it happened so or just out of boredom or, perhaps, because of a sudden urge of a hidden addiction or... who even cares anymore? Oh, well, maybe we should?

Let's imagine for a moment that any bigger country on Secura, including Poland, USA, Russia and so on, falls. Even for a little bit longerso anarchy will do a broadly understood mess everywhere. Think about that. The people getting money out of this game might smell an occasion. You know, adverts like: "Poland conquered by Germany", "Russia under Ukrainian rule", "Pakistan and Nepal are occupying US, help to make American great again!" and voi la - a MASSIVE BABY BOOM. Well, the more players, the more money, they should be interested in their paycheck rising. And we will also be much happier as there will be stuff happening and many new, well-motivated players. For example I've started my lil' adventure with E-sim, which turned out to be more than 7 yrs rn, because of the add saying that Poland is under Lithuanian occupation
What motivates you more then a clear target in regaining your independence and mutual experience of fighting hand-by-hand. What inspires you more than being able to watch the very country you've helped to rise, blooming and growing. And last but certainly not least - what gives you more passion for the political game than personal conflicts and rivalry with your opponents like in the real politics and like in the real business.
Yes, such a solution will have its own cons. Yes, being able to agree on many thing in one country might be hard, if not impossible. Yes, it will be all damn unpredictable but hey, will anybody really die because od that? The world itself will cease to exist? We won't have anything left to eat?
***
For the final notice: I have nothing personal against any of the people ruling e-Poland - they are really nice guys, competent, motivated and responsible but damn. Right now we have a utopia in which nothing's changing and there's no fun anymore. On the surface everything's alright but we all know it's dying. It actually has been for last few years but... is this the kind of a game we want? Do we really want Secura like a slowly rotting corpse on which we all grumble but nobody's brave enough to change that?
This IS NOT Secura I want. And that's why I believe the only reasonable cure which will revive it is... a global revolution. A GLOBAL ANARCHY! Let's do a mess! Let's let Kosovo rule over Greece, Iran over Italy, Ukraine over Russia, Denmark over France, Papua New Guinea over Brazil and so on! Let let it be ridiculous and well... let it be fun!
DOUBLE-CLICKING MASSES, DIVIDE! LET'S BEGIN THE REVOLUTION! VIVAT ANARCHIA!!!
