After playing this game for almost one year, I become more and more disappointed with e-sim. There has been no new element for a long time. Someone might refer to these new achievements, but from my PoV, they are simply minor fixes – not even an improvement. Here come some of my suggestion and propositions of new elements.
Modern? Modern! Modern…
e-sim states, at the top line of its main page, it is a simulation of the modern world. But come on, what is simulated - is actually an ancient world back to the middle age. There are simply some resources distributed homogenously on the map, always a lack of productivity, almost no technology trees, and the power of a country is linearly dependents on its number of players (more precisely, loyal players). Making this game more flexible, exciting and more un-predictable, I suggest to adding at least these following elements:
Scientific institute: Scientific institute can be hosted either by private or by government; it needs to be feed with productivities and gold since technology development is expensive and needs huge amount of manpower. Some random number can be added since the investigating of new technology is not necessarily successful. However, once a technology is developed, it can be sold (or exchanged) at the market, and once used, it can be transferred into a buff (with fixed duration) that boosts the productivity or weapon power or any fancy patterns – a complex, balanced technology tree, some kind of ultimate weapon – why not.
Rare resources: I am completely bored of these six resources. I suggest to adding some rare resources which can also be used to enhance the power of weapon, etc. (to be consumed when applying new technologies), with the proper technology. Gets a balance starting point, the rare resource need not to be located at some very countries, but simply be located at some place where each country (or union) needs to fight for it, for example, somewhere at the ocean, south pole, or even the moon (He3? Admin please add luna!). The rare resources can only be collected if it is under the control of some country/union, or countries can make agreements on sharing the resources & technology.
Since the power of a country in e-sim now is completely depending on its population, I suggest balancing these big countries and small ones by including some elements such as:
Global revolution: randomly select one date and all the colonies of one country – or on the entire map, start resistance war (frankly speaking, this is two lines of code). At such event, we can design even an unbalanced war, say the resistance side needs only to win 4 rounds instead of 8.
Garrison expenses: Control a colony is profitable... but also expensive. Ask Obama… or anyone else.
We can make the game more real by adding:
Wounds of war: fight on some region will reduce the productive of hosted factories (depends on the total amount of damage absorbed in this region). Factories can even be demoted or destroyed if you want.
This option can be interesting - simply because it consumes gold.
Moral: winning one round will simply boost the damage of one side by – a small percentage.
There are many possibilities to improve, with even minor amount of coding. So far e-sim is a successful browser game, in the sense that it survived for 400+ days and even commercially successful. However, without innovation, it will simply lose its players and died slowly. See how many “active” players around you – sometime I cannot even help to think, people continues to spend their time on e-sim, because they love e-sim, or because they used to it.
It's the first time I publish an article in US, for I'm seeking for support on this ideas.
Vote if you agrees in some sense.
Vote if you want more people to see it.
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth.
Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit
different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be
efficiently
managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation.
Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the
game.
Work for the good of your country and
see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules.
First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you
will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress
as a fighter.
You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which
are owned by the state.
After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your
own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock
company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
"E-Sim is one of the most unique browser games out there"
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics
in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes.
From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability
to run for the head of the party you're in.
You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws
proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself.
Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you.
You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential
elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state
(for example, who to declare war on).
Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have
a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military.
In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control
over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials.
For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have
to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on
their territory.
You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life
as a pacifist
who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling
products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game.
It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present
in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth
according to their own.
So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
