Death and Rebirth (Old article)

Greetings America,

I've gotten to be pretty vocal in my criticism of our administrations up to this point. The old guard seems to be on it's way out but, frankly, the new challengers haven't wowed me.

The old guard seems to have jackist lined up to fill their shoes. This worries me, at the outset, since he has yet to publish his plan. What are they basing this support on, one must wonder?

One thing I am certain of is that, during the term I served in Congress, he and several other Military/Industrial powers used their Congressional seat as a way of promoting protectionist tax policy.

The rationale for protectionism is, as is implied from the name, protecting American business interests from foreign competition. However, what is less obvious is that this only serves to maintain the advantage American financial powerhouses have over the markets. This means a select few only need compete with each other and need not fear either smaller American business owners nor powerful foreign business owners.

You're no doubt asking, 'So what? Why should I care?'

There is a very simple answer; you, the consumer, are the one who subsudiZes this advantage. Less competetion means higher prices. Worse yet, higher prices mean less damage on the ground and, as a result, more tax money is needed to make up for that loss.

Unfortunately, the other announced candidate, Yuuatsu, also supports the foolish tax structure the gold-buying elite have decided upon out of their own self-interests.

Death to Import Taxes

Import Taxes do not exist to generate revenue. Import taxes exist to discourage foreigners from selling products on our markets. This creates an artificial wage and product price equilibrium which, in any capitalism based economy, is NEVER A GOOD THING.

What I want to see is more Gifts, Weapons, Food and everything else on our markets at prices that will draw people in from all corners of the eSim to buy our products and, even better, to work in our factories and mines and fields.

Whenever I make this point, the powers that be assert that 'Prices are already low enough'.

I cannot help but to laugh at this and, do not doubt, anyone who says such things does not have your interests at heart.

Death to Alliances

As we have recently seen, the United States does not need an Alliance so much as it needs Poland and Lithuania to stay out of our way.

What good does it do us to regularly challenge them in their affairs and what do we gain? Certainly not the good will of the Alliance we do this on behalf of, they have made that abundantly clear. All this seems to have done is piss them off enough to come and challenge us on our own ground.

I have a better idea.

Why don't we, while we're busy hiring all the world and selling them our products and inviting them to pay a pitance for the right to sell on our markets, make the world our army, as well?

Why not take the tax money we will be rolling in, from the sheer volume of sales, and discover that we've ignored the most obvious tool the government has to do it's only job?

Well, I exagurate, Government has two jobs.

1) Provide Markets
2) Protect the Markets (i.e. prevent market collapse as a result of occupation)

The point I am raising is in regard to #2, which is the only job that takes any effort.

We have chosen to provide pre-purchased supplies to only our citizens (and select others) and pass them out via IRC in an effort to ensure they are used properly. It is a good system and that tradition should continue. It allows us to deal and control large amounts of damage over short periods. It does have its drawbacks, though. For one, it makes us all incredibly lazy and gives us a sense of entitlement.

When was the last time you actually bought guns?

Do you normally simply expect them to be handed to you on a silver platter?

If you use IRC, I know you do. I sure do.

But, tell me, does the 5% income tax you pay justify the aproximately 5 gold worth of goods the government shoves down your craw every other day? Or are you entitled to such benefits for the fact that you log on IRC and sit around until someone tells you to strike? Do you really deserve so much more than those who do not use IRC?

If you are a fair person, you are probably saying, 'Well, no, but that's the system. How else should we do it?'

It's so easy. So, so easy.

Subsudize.

Subsudize the ever loving hell out of every battle we have our hands in.

Why do we draw such unnessicary distinctions?

Is 200k damage any less potent when dealt by a person who can't be bothered with IRC? Is it less potent when dealt by a foreign national?

Why do we worry about the goods purchased with our taxes being stolen or misused when an entirely safe system of directing damage already exists?

We're All Living in America

VAT taxes at 5%, Import taxes at 2%, Income Tax at 10%

Subsidize. Expand. Develop.

It is a simple and self-contained system.

We simply cease our fretting about what flag appears next to a person's name and we invite every citizen of every nation to sit at our table and eat their fill, to fight along side us and to make our interests their interests. To build their businesses here, hire here, sell here and buy here.

It's time to stop trying to decide who will be our enemies and who will be our friends.

Let us invite everyone to be our friends and let others decide for themselves who wishes to be the enemies of everyone.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
