Citizens of Glorious Korea, I come today to enlighten you as to the basis of our military strategy! E-Sim is a complex and territorial game; dependent on proper timing and application of force. Fortunately, Korea has always invested in mighty technologies and tactics to defend itself against all enemies. But do not take my word for it. Allow history to guide us in our modern struggles.

This is Admiral Yi Sun-Shin. He was the commander of the Korean Navy during the Japanese invasions of 1592-1598. The Japanese greatly outnumbered Korea as well as having highly skilled armies and a united homeland with no external threats. But where Korea was weak on land and in numbers she was strong at sea even while facing great odds.

This was Admiral Yi's great weapon. The Turtle Ship negated the Japanese fleet in many ways. First, the iron spikes on the roof made boarding actions very difficult. The Japanese ships were small and emphasized swift troop actions backed by archers. The turtle ship however was armed with a full broadside of cannons. What is more, the U shaped hull design and front anchor gave the Koreans a stable firing platform as well as a turning radius equal to the ship's length. The oars as well contributed for a massive burst of speed when called for.

But this is not enough to win a war. After many victories, Admiral Yi was betrayed by jealous rivals who had been compromised by Japanese agents. His command was stripped and he was tortured nearly to death. It was only when the Korean fleet was led into an ambush and destroyed that he was summoned to once again save the nation.

And he did so zealously. The fleet was sunk, but he still had 13 lesser ships called Panokseon.

Admiral Yi was told to abandon his fleet and join the land army for a final defense of Korea. He wrote in reply "...I still have twelve battle ships...and I am still alive, the enemy shall never be safe in the Western Sea." He took his force out to meet the Japanese, but at a carefully chosen strait where he would undo their invasion: the Myeongnyang straits.

These straits are unique in that they have very strong currents that change direction around every three hours. Admiral Yi realized that by using the islands in the straits and the currents themselves he could take the 333 Japanese ships opposing him and force them to divide their strengths.

On the morning of October 26th he sent out a single battleship to incite the Japanese. They surged with the currents through the morning mist but did not see the Korean fleet waiting, anchored in the shadows of a nearby island. Finally as they neared the end of the straits the Koreans began firing at close ranges. Their even bottoms provided stable firing platforms, while steel wire that ran between certain island chains fouled lines of advance for the Japanese. From the shadows, Admiral Yi could evade the inaccurate Japanese fire.

Then the tide turned. The Japanese boats that had finally been massing for an all out assault in the clear straits began to crash into each other. All fleet cohesion was lost as the fleet found itself forced back out into the channel. With the current at his back, Admiral Yi advanced his fleet, sowing chaos and destruction as he went. Finally the Japanese were able to beat a retreat, having 31 destroyed and nearly a hundred so damaged as to be out of action. More importantly, the fleet could not advance into the Yellow Sea and resupply the army that had advanced so far into Korea. Admiral Yi lost no ships and only two men.

But how does this relate to e-Sim? The basic tactics and strategy of Admiral Yi truly are the foundation for our military capability. First: Use high technology. As their ships made heavy use of cannons, Koreans must be ready to use IRC and other forms of communication to help each other excel at growth and coordinating damage.

Second: Adjust your strategy to counter the enemies strengths. A lot of the game is based on timing. We attack at times that are advantageous to us. We know our enemies peak damage hours and work to strengthen against those battles by placing defensive systems during those times.

Third: Use the terrain to your advantage. When we were under the third Canadian invasion, it was decided to allow the Canadians some measure of success in order to demonstrate to the the futility of battle. They took one region from us, but before they could attack the second region we started a resistance war in the first. By ignoring the second attack and focusing on the RW we were able to swiftly recapture the first region. The second Canadian attack then lost steam as they had a -20% damage debuff for now being surrounded in Korean territory. They were swiftly and mercilessly dispatched.

Finally: Realize that though we are outnumbered by many nations in the world, all of these qualities can bring us victory. Admiral Yi never brought more than 5 Turtle Ships to battle, and needed none for his greatest victory. They were elite units, yes, but they had a purpose on the battlefield, spearheading the attacks. Everyone in Korea as well has a purpose, and together we are invincible. If Korea ever falls; if we can say,

"...I still have twelve battle ships...and I am still alive, the enemy shall never be safe in the Western Sea."

Then Korea will rise again.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
