What is Wrong with UWA? (Old article)

I started to write a comment in this article by Elenagon and got a little carried away with my statistics. I thought it may be better to put them into a new article.

The theory is that while damage between VVV and UWA are slightly unbalanced, the real culprit behind UWA's rash of lost battles is because VVV took the most coordinated (Clutch) Military Units. While that argument does hold merit when you look at the list , I believe the real problem is an overall lack of cooperation between UWA allies.

VVV was formed and launched their first attack on Alaska on February 8th, a mere 3 weeks ago. Since that attack, VVV countries have dealt 4,690,136,659 damage compared to UWA's 4,295,031,699, a difference of around 8.4%.

Let's look at the top 5 UWA members by damage, which represent 78% of the alliance's overall damage:

1) Serbia 1,037,025,178
2) USA 939,048,248
3) Hungary 622,991,258
4) Bulgaria 376,943,988
5) Croatia 368,284,080

Now lets look at how much damage these countries have used to support their allies:

USA

Since February 8th, there have been 55 battles involving USA and 1,621,807,621 damage was dealt on their side. In those battles, their largest allies contributed the following damage (and percent of total damage):
1) USA 625,305,285 (66.6%)
2) Serbia 108,151,985 (10.4%)
3) Croatia 44,184,416 (12.0%)
4) Bulgaria 28,249,245 (7.5%)
5) Hungary 11,931,733 (1.9%)

Hungary was basically non-existent while the second largest member of their alliance got wiped, contributing less than 1% to the overall defense/liberation. Even combined, the 4 other allies besides the USA contributed 12% to the overall defense. USA had to carry the rest along with BH hunters, 2-clickers, and whoever else wanted equipment drops from large battles.

Serbia

There have been 39 battles involving Serbia and 1,129,736,801 damage was dealt on their side. In those battles, their largest allies contributed the following damage:
1) Serbia 598,163,219 (58.0%)
2) Hungary 60,975,318 (9.8%)
3) Croatia 50,884,922 (13.8%)
4) Bulgaria 27,722,731 (7.4%)
5) USA 14,498,192 (1.54%)

USA appeared to sit this one out, even though Southern Serbia was attacked well after they were wiped. That is no way to treat the ally who dealt the most damage (in absolute terms) during your own defense. The other 4 major UWA allies contributed 13.6% of Serbia's overall defense.

Hungary

There have been 16 battles involving Hungary and 625,843,670 damage was dealt on their side. In those battles, their largest allies contributed the following damage:

1) Hungary 302,502,632 (48.6%)
2) Bulgaria 45,598,990 (12.1%)
3) Serbia 29,473,979 (2.8%)
4) USA 7,549,342 (0.8%)
5) Croatia 3,844,818 (1.0%)

Obviously you expect the home country to do the bulk of the defense, but Hungary battles represented only 12.5% of the 128 UWA battles analyzed in this article and this is where Hungary dealt almost half of their damage. The other UWA allies contributed 13.7% to the overall defense.

Bulgaria

There have been 10 battles involving Bulgaria and 477,637,632 damage was dealt on their side. In those battles, their largest allies contributed the following damage:

1) Bulgaria 156,621,672 (41.6%)
2) Hungary 107,004,079 (17.2%)
3) Serbia 42,596,195 (4.1%)
4) Croatia 7,493,621 (2.0%)
5) USA 6,287,437 (0.7%)

Similar to Hungary, these battles represent a small sample of the overall alliance's war effort but garner a large portion of the home country's damage. Hungary also contribute a significant amount of damage to Bulgaria's defense. As such, they received the largest ally support so far with 34.1% of the overall defense.

What does UWA have to show for their most coordinated defense (ie one other ally, Hungary, stepped up)?

Ruse (#2786) conquered by Romania 8-1
Plovdiv (#2803) conquered by Romania 8-0
Plovdiv (#2816) resistance quelled 8-2
Sofia (#2819) conquered by Romania 8-4
Plovdiv (#2836) resistance quelled 8-4
Vidin (#2839) conquered by Romania 8-1
Varna (#2859) conquered by Romania 8-3
Ruse (#2862) resistance quelled 8-0
Burgas (#2882) conquered by Romania 8-1
Sofia (#2883) resistance quelled 8-2

An overall record of 80-18.

Croatia

There have been 8 battles involving Croatia and 140,943,901 damage was dealt on their side. In those battles, their largest allies contributed the following damage:

1) Croatia 102,081,331 (27.7%)
2) Serbia 8,365,560 (0.8%)
3) Bulgaria 1,936,347 (0.5%)
4) USA 646,650 (0.1%)
5) Hungary 252,217 (0.0%)

Since these were all battles where Serbia released regions back to Croatia, I include them only for the sake of completeness.

What is wrong with UWA?

It seems obvious that there is little cooperation going on, making UWA susceptible to a classic divide and conquer strategy. Each country gives their own battles the highest priority.

The real problem is a lack of organization to dictate which allies need support versus which ones can afford to be sacrificed for the greater good of the alliance. By trying to win every battle, you play right into VVV's strength in coordination.

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
