Welcome to the sixth article in my continuing series on Gold Usage, covering Days 173 to 186 (February 14th through February 27th).
Overall weapon expenditures were down 2.7% this period, dropping from 125,123g to 121,701g. Last time, I surmised that auctions were taking gold away from weapon expenditures.
On average, however, the number of auctions are down 5.6% this period, so it is not likely that more gold is being spent there rather than on weapons. Let's look at the spending breakdown by country:
Countries Ranked by Total Gold Spent on Weapons
Major changes occurred this period. As expected, USA lost its long-standing #2 slot. Their GDP,if you will, dropped 35.5% from 9,735g down to 6,276g. I fear they have further to fall as Lithuania continues to sit on their core regions and many of their most productive citizens have either quit the game or moved to other countries. Their top 20 hitters last period spent 3,426g. Looking at that same group this period:
1 quit - ROB #17
1 moved to Denmark - Uncle #3
2 moved to India - Deadrider #6 and Insane #7
1 moved to Pikestan - Chasely #18
The remaining 15 members still in the USA spent 2,055g this period (-40%). 1,636g lost by USA was offset by gains in Denmark, India, and Pikestan.
Another possible explanation for the decrease in weapon expenditures is mass bannings in Indonesia, which dropped from 526 active citizens down to 456 (-13.3%). While across the globe the number of active citizens actually increased a negligible amount, from 10,325 to 10,333, many of the banned Indonesians were high-profile damage dealers, now being replaced with newbies. Indonesia's GDP dropped 9.5% from 5,627g down to 5,094g. These lost citizens were offset by gains in Iran, which surged from 529 to 563 (6.4%) citizens and spent 711.5 (16.7%) more gold.
The real losers dragging down the economy appear to be Sweden, Slovakia, and Portugal.
Sweden lost 7 citizens (-3.1%) while their GDP dropped from 3,862g down to 3,116g (-19.3%).
Slovakia gained 4 citizens (1.8%) while their GDP dropped from 3,642g down to 2,881g (-20.9%).
Portugal lost 8 citizens (-3.2%) while their GDP dropped from 3,500g down to 3,020g (-13.7%).
Countries Ranked by Average Gold Spent on Weapons per *Active Citizen
*Active: someone who fought during this period.
Despite a drop in total and Per Capita spending, South Korea managed to take the top slot with 21.67g per citizen. Montenegro slipped to #2, while Austria's brief flare of spending came crashing down from #2 to #31. Pikestan now rounds out the top 3.
Greece makes a particularly impressive #4, given their enormous size. Spending over 20g per citizen across 347 active citizens represents a true economic powerhouse.
Military Units Ranked by Total Gold Spent on Weapons
Despite being hit with a few bans, GUNKOSTRAD managed to only drop to #2, trading places (again) with Gloria Victis. Given their 32% spending margin over the next highest spender, it looks like Gloria Victis will be #1 for awhile. MARVEL and EDK also make strong showings, which helps explain why VVV encompasses 32.9% of the world GDP with only 29.5% of the active population.
Rec spent roughly the same amount of gold that got him the top slot last time, but was edged out of 2nd place by NeaStefan . SiRi took #1 and demonstrated that the vac/spa limit exploit (sorry, "feature" is still alive and well. damian004 will show up next period using the same "feature" in Western Ukraine .
Most Expensive Battle
The most expensive battle was Canada East Coast with 3,598g worth of weapons used:
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth.
Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit
different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be
efficiently
managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation.
Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the
game.
Work for the good of your country and
see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules.
First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you
will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress
as a fighter.
You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which
are owned by the state.
After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your
own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock
company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.
"E-Sim is one of the most unique browser games out there"
Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics
in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes.
From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability
to run for the head of the party you're in.
You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws
proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself.
Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you.
You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential
elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state
(for example, who to declare war on).
Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have
a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military.
In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control
over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials.
For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have
to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on
their territory.
You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life
as a pacifist
who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling
products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game.
It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present
in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth
according to their own.
So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
