I think we all agree an economy in the game s*cks

First from all several questions to think about

Hospital not used at all
How often hospital is installed in regions? Why there is actually only one hospital on market? Because hospital is the most useless building in the game. Due to implementation, not because benefit.

Player's income limited
Economy grows (not in deflation) when most people can buy not only daily products (bread, milk..) but also from time to time a luxury (smartphones...).
Also items in game can be divided to products and luxury (besides raw).
For daily products can be counted food (up to level 5), house and weapons (level 1) and luxury is everything else (gifts, estate, weapons level 2+).
Unfortunately most of players (not counting double-clickers) have a problem to earn enough for daily products (15 Q5 food and 150 Q1 weapons); and economy has not crashed yet thanks to donations (e.g. by countries). This limits economy more than any other issue (including stone and wood issue).

Economy vs. donation
The above point is also a reason why country prefer to donate fighters (e.g. 0.4 PLN for 100,000 damage) rather than adding DS to region. Because rounds where is a region have often high damage waste on defender side as people like to fight with the bonus.

Building points
Each region has 26 building points to install a building - defense systems here. It takes level of building + 1 from the limit.
It means country can add not more than 13 level 1 DS; or 8 level 2 DS; 4 level 5 DS and 1 level 1 DS.
I think you will agree this is very limiting and country presidents thinks twice before adding DS to region. That's probably also a reason why Poland has 78 level 2 DS not installed anywhere.
But I understand this logic - it was created to avoid making some region invulnerable, what a region with DS of level 5 installed to first 8-10 rounds almost will be.

I've asked what's possible to do with this and there is my proposal.

Change building points to be dynamic and motivated to use buildings more often

Part 1 - How buildings points are counted
Allow to instal DS of level 1 into each round (from 1 to 15) - this itself is more than actual limit 26 although probably not all countries will add DS to all rounds.
Adding DS of higher level will be allowed only if there will be hospital (hospital does not affect building points). For each level of hospital will be maximal level of DS increased by 2. It means with hospital level 1 can be installed DS of level 1, 2 or 3; with hospital of level 2 will be allowed to install DS of any level.

Part 2 - Positive and negative bonus of DS
To avoid invulnerable regions will be needed to allow foreign countries to destroy DS (only DS, not hospitals).
The idea is that country can add DS to region of another country, when added it will decrease level of DS up to -5, so it can generate a bonus -25% for defenders (new tactic for countries to plan what battle to fight more and what to miss). I'll describe this more in details below.
DS with negative bonus will be destroyed when
- defenders win the round or
- defenders lost the region where DS was used

Part 3 - by default have a bonus -5% instead of 0%
As mentioned, some countries are more motivated to donate fighters instead of economy. So motivate them somehow.
My proposal: Round where is not installed no DS (with positive neither negative bonus) will generate -5% default bonus instead of current 0% when
a) for defenders: if there are less than 3 DS (with a positive effect) installed in the region
i.e. take a region where are defense systems in three rounds: 2 (level 1),4 (level2),5(level3) then
in a round 1 will be bonus 0% for defenders (there are three DS installed = three regions with DS)
in a round 2 will be bonus 5% for defenders; let's say defenders lost this round so DS has been destroyed
in a round 3 will be a bonus -5% for defenders as there is no DS in this round (only 2 of them remain)
in a round 4 and 5 will be normal bonus 10% or 15% (not implemented -5% bonus as there is DS installed)
b) for attackers: if there is no negative DS installed in the region
if there is at least one DS with negative bonus then attacker has 0% bonus in all rounds

This should motive both sides to instal DS into region (positive for defenders, negative for attackers).

Now, how to instal DS with negative bonus
The simplest idea is use already existing DS to be installed on foreign region but it can be also a new building (for example build from wood to support solving stone and wood problem). But the process how it should be installed remain same in both cases:
President can propose to install DS to region and round of own country (like it's now) or foreign country (to generate negative bonus)
DS can be installed on foreign region with following condition:
- DS can be installed only on region that has no negative bonus yet (i.e. there is no DS or DS installed by owner of region)
- DS can be installed to any round of region if there is no "positive" DS installed otherwise it needs to be installed where DS is (i.e. if there is DS in round 3, then foreigner need to install negative DS in round 3 first)
- level of installed DS is decreased from actual level i.e. if there is no DS then negative level is a same as the installed one; if there is already existing DS then it's deducted from that (DS level 3 installed where is DS of level 1 => there will be DS of level -2)
- to be able to install DS is needed to have DS (of any level) and 3 gold in inventory; gold is paid to country owner
- it can be installed before the battle only, once battle starts it's not allowed to install new DS (so attacker needs to organize)

Attacker can to tactic if and how will install DS to foreign country. For example:
- will ignore to destroy DS but fight with -5% bonus
- destroy all (or all except 2) DS of region's owner to change a default bonus of defender to -5%
- install one DS to any region with DS higher than installed (e.g. in round 14 is DS level 1; foreigner will install there DS of level 3, so there will be DS level -2 = negative bonus) to have 0% default fight bonus in all rounds

Also defenders can tactic - for example they can decide to invest to hospitals rather than DS (hospital of level 1 will decrease energy spent by 5%, so what's lost on bonus from DS can be saved by lowered energy cost).

It's possible countries will ignore this but then the fight in their battles will be more though, so people will need to buy special items to get the same damage (even 5% make a difference, specially if valid for all rounds), what means more donations from countries.
So I think most countries will use this to modify own or opponent's bonus.

After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.


You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).


At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
