It's Surprising How Hard Someone Will Work, When the Work is Done For Themselves (Fun)

One of the primary goals of e-Sim is the growth of one's country at the expense of another's, so it came to no one's surprise yesterday when Canada decided to declare war on South Korea and attack Chuncheon, with the goal of eventually acquiring the High Diamond region of Jeolla for themselves.

What is surprising was how their small nation of 125 citizens had no problem abandoning their new OGD-alliance allies on the battlefield yesterday. While Canadian citizens were busy buying up special items and fighting the hardest they ever have on Secura (so far) in their expansion campaign against Korea, their allies in Spain and the United Kingdom were busy losing their core regions of Castilla La-Mancha and Southwestern England . As both of those countries have already lost their high resource regions and are on the brink of total occupation, one has to wonder why Canada, the smallest member of Order of the Golden Dawn, would initiate such a selfish campaign while their allies need them most.

What is also surprising is reading the shouts of Canadian citizens and seeing that, despite their embarrassing defeat there the first time around, they plan to attack Chuncheon again as soon as they regain initiative. As Canada continues to sign MPPs with their allies, this will effectively turn each and every attack that they make against Korea into a damage drain on their alliance, taking damage away from battles of more importance and undoubtedly costing their allies dearly.

The irony in all of this is that once Poland and Sweden finish conquering Spain and the United Kingdom, two-clicking citizens of those OGD countries will be working and fighting from regions now controlled by the SUP? alliance, further improving the economies of OGD's enemy while also providing additional damage support to them on the battlefield... likely against other members of the OGD alliance. So Canada's decision to turn their backs on their allies could wind up creating damage against their very own country by citizens of those same allies (should they continue to attack Korea instead of defending OGD).

So if you were to ask me, I'd say Canada is Order of the Golden Dawn in name only, certainly not in spirit. Their actions have shown that they'd rather operate an unwinnable campaign for themselves than help their allies grow. One need to only look at their damage output in Chuncheon , versus their damage in the defense of the economic powerhouse region of Canada East Coast (also pay special attention to Round 11 ) for the primary member of their alliance (USA) for evidence of this.

Of course, maybe Canada will reanalyze the situation and realize that to attempt to expand the borders of their country at this time, they do so at the expense not of their enemy, but of their allies. But based on how things have gone so far, if that actually happened then I would find it truly surprising.

----

As far as what's been going on in Korea aside from the war, I'll quickly hit a few topics:

Congress Elections
They're coming up, so do not forget to run. We need a full set of active Congressmen this term so we can finally push through the rest of the tax changes and make any additional necessary adjustments as well.

Expansion of the ROK Armed Forces
The South Korea government military unit, ROK Armed Forces , is looking for new blood to fill the ranks. Membership is free*, but you must be level 7 or higher to join, and you must also work in the South Korea Grain company for five days in a row to prove you are an active citizen worthy of a slot in the unit. Joining this unit does not offer much benefit now aside from the 5% damage bonus, but this may change over time as we become more and more organized.

*While no gold is required to join, when working at South Korea Grain you will be paid a wage that is 80% of the current market rate for your skill level. The total amount of wages "lost" over the five days will vary, but likely it will be less than .5g total so it is a small price to pay to be able to benefit from the damage bonus offered by the military unit.

Guns for Citizens
We're in the planning stages of finding a way to provide guns to citizens on days our country is directly involved in war. Whether they be free, or at a small gold cost (something like 1 gold per 100 Q1 weapons) has yet to be determined. Fighting with guns is significantly more damage than fighting barehanded, so we feel it's important to do everything possible to give our citizens the opportunity to get a hold of them at a reasonable price. And as we are a small country, any additional damage we can create for the protection of our country is worth reaching into the government piggy bank for.

As soon as we figure out the details, I will publish another article about it.

Civil Wars in South Korea
Another thing we are currently discussing is the operation of Civil Wars in our country so that we are able to generate gold for not only our treasury, but for the citizens of Korea, through the means of selling the hero medals for each round. Many small countries are doing this now, and as we are pretty well organized for a country, we feel it's something we can take advantage of too.

Our Treasury
I'm not going to publish the exact amount of what the bank holds while we're at war, but just know: it's booming, we have a lot of gold, and yesterday we pulled in over 6.5g in taxes alone. We have double the amount of assets we had the day before Jeolla was liberated (10 days ago), and we're barely spending anything at this point so our holdings are increasing at a rate that we could easily supply guns to almost every active citizen during days of war and actually break-even for the day. Checkmate, invaders.

IRC
Just a reminder, the official channel for South Korea on the Secura server is #secura.sk (in retrospect I should've made it #secura.kr, but meh). It is recommended that all active and pro-Korea citizens of our nation idle the channel on days of war, this way we can coordinate our fights together, as well as get supplies into the hands of those of you who might be having a hard time finding them.

The key to our success is our organization, communication, and camaraderie. Setting aside personal goals for the benefit of one's country is something not many citizens are willing to do in this game, but our victory against Canada earlier showed that the citizens of our country are ready to throw down for one another at a moment's notice. So getting on IRC only ensures your damage is used even more effectively in battles while fighting alongside your fellow countrymen for the good of our nation.

That's all for now.

GOD BLESS SOUTH KOREA, AND GOD BLESS BUD B. BOOMER!

About the game:

USA as a world power? In E-Sim it is possible!

In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth. Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be efficiently managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation. Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the game.

Work for the good of your country and see it rise to an empire.

Activities in this game are divided into several modules. First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress as a fighter. You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which are owned by the state. After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.

In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.

The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes. From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability to run for the head of the party you're in. You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself. Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you. You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state (for example, who to declare war on). Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.

You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.

The international war.

The last and probably the most important module is military. In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials. For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on their territory. You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life as a pacifist who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling products).

At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.

E-Sim is a unique browser game. It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth according to their own. So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
