Welcome to the fourth article in my continuing series on Gold Usage, covering Days 131 to 144 (January 17th through 30th).
Weapon expenditures were up 9.6% this period, rising from 113,722g to 124,609g and setting a new record. This is not surprising in light of the new equipment module and the importance of Top 3/10 finishes. The biggest pop was an 18.4% increase in the usage of Q5 weapons, from 173,549 to 206,195. BH hunting just isn't for the little guys any more.
Countries Ranked by Total Gold Spent on Weapons
The entire top 8 remains unchanged, although the USA bucked their decline by spending an extra 1,300 gold this period. I think the more interesting stat can be found looking at the bottom 10 countries. Their combined spending has increased by 27.3%, from 5,606g to 7,135g. This is good news for everyone as it demonstrates significantly more participation from players that are typically excluded from the world stage.
Countries Ranked by Average Gold Spent on Weapons per *Active Citizen
*Active: someone who fought during this period.
Spending on a per capita basis shows Montenegro is still on top by a huge margin thanks (I guess) to a huge drop in Active Citizens. Only 44 Montenegroes fought this period, compared to 65 at the beginning of the month. Either they really didn't like the equipment module or they became citizens of another country.
Canada continued their climb, improving to #2. We will see if they can hang on after losing Golan Briggs to Denmark. He was seen by many as the backbone of Canada's revitalization, and his sudden departure will certainly have an impact.
After losing the ability to generate gold from Civil Wars, Malaysia's spending per capita has slipped from 2nd to 5th. It will be interesting to see if this is their new slot or if they are passing through on the way further down. I am sure they will think of something clever to stay near the top.
Military Units Ranked by Total Gold Spent on Weapons
As someone suggested that I publish total damage, I have added it to this chart rather than devote an entire article to it. I do not sort by it, but there is a strong relationship between spending and damage. Rest assured that the heaviest hitters are all represented on this list of biggest spenders.
The top 5 Military Units essentially remained the same, although the two Greeks swapped places. Gloria Victis spent a record 3,610g to deal a staggering 339 million damage during this two week period. That is a daily average of over 24 million damage.
Citizens Ranked by Total Gold Spent on Weapons
A staple of the list, Yensid , made good on his threats leading up to the release of the equipment module and has dropped off of the top 20 list completely. Meanwhile, You say fyrom i say FUCK YOU has embraced the new module and ramped up his spending by 13.4%. Thanks to the Avoid stat, spending has been unleashed. Speedy was able to fight 333 extra times.
Speaking of Avoid... Citizen chilly managed to fight 857 times in a single day (145 Q3 and 712 Q5). He dealt 12,493,958 damage across 4 rounds in middle of the day (between 11:00 and 16:00 server time).
The defenders spent 22 more gold than the attackers, hitting with almost 1,000 more Q5 weapons. It is worth nothing that the most expensive battle last period cost 4,150g, so obviously gold is being spread around to more battles.
edit: I have received several comments in IRC (and MooMoo's below) about ST1m setting a new record of 29 million damage in a single day.
Day 161 17:15
Emperor Bomb
Apparently, rather than a legitimate use of the Avoid stat, it is possible to stack vacation and spa buffs. Hopefully that bug gets fixed quickly now that it has been brought to light. Maybe these records need asterisks like with American baseball homeruns.
In E-Sim we have a huge, living world, which is a mirror copy of the Earth.
Well, maybe not completely mirrored, because the balance of power in this virtual world looks a bit
different than in real life. In E-Sim, USA does not have to be a world superpower, It can be
efficiently
managed as a much smaller country that has entrepreneurial citizens that support it's foundation.
Everything depends on the players themselves and how they decide to shape the political map of the
game.
Work for the good of your country and
see it rise to an empire.
Activities in this game are divided into several modules.
First is the economy as a citizen in a country of your choice you must work to earn money, which you
will get to spend for example, on food or purchase of weapons which are critical for your progress
as a fighter.
You will work in either private companies which are owned by players or government companies which
are owned by the state.
After progressing in the game you will finally get the opportunity to set up your
own business and hire other players. If it prospers, we can even change it into a joint-stock
company and enter the stock market and get even more money in this way.
In E-Sim, international wars are nothing out of the ordinary.

Become an influential politician.
The second module is a politics. Just like in real life politics
in E-Sim are an extremely powerful tool that can be used for your own purposes.
From time to time there are elections in the game in which you will not only vote, but also have the ability
to run for the head of the party you're in.
You can also apply for congress, where once elected you will be given the right to vote on laws
proposed by your fellow congress members or your president and propose laws yourself.
Voting on laws is important for your country as it can shape the lives of those around you.
You can also try to become the head of a given party, and even take part in presidential
elections and decide on the shape of the foreign policy of a given state
(for example, who to declare war on).
Career in politics is obviously not easy and in order to succeed in it, you have to have
a good plan and compete for the votes of voters.
You can go bankrupt or become a rich man while playing the stock market.
The international war.
The last and probably the most important module is military.
In E-Sim, countries are constantly fighting each other for control
over territories which in return grant them access to more valuable raw materials.
For this purpose, they form alliances, they fight international wars, but they also have
to deal with, for example, uprisings in conquered countries or civil wars, which may explode on
their territory.
You can also take part in these clashes, although you are also given the opportunity to lead a life
as a pacifist
who focuses on other activities in the game (for example, running a successful newspaper or selling
products).
At the auction you can sell or buy your dream inventory.
E-Sim is a unique browser game.
It's creators ensured realistic representation of the mechanisms present
in the real world and gave all power to the players who shape the image of the virtual Earth
according to their own.
So come and join them and help your country achieve its full potential.
